Okay, Shadow Clan!
We have seen the feedback and we are going to make a BIG change before things get too far along.
This is a new app and style releasing that we’re developing live in front of you. Aethon is also a new company to many of you. Even though we’ve been publishing books and webcomics for years, that is undeniably true. We need to earn your trust. So, this is what we’re going to do.
We want people to be willing to pay to experience the work put into an adaptation of this magnitude, but while we expected this webcomic to be pirated like all ours do even off of Webtoon, we didn’t expect the scale of rampant piracy that is occuring. Reading the webcomic on non-legitimate sites will only hurt the future of this project.
So, we’ve decided that for now we are going to keep all episodes of Shadow Slave free through the first Nightmare. That will be around Episode 12-14 (won’t get specific to avoid spoilers), as we are very closely adapting the first nightmare because it is so crucial to Sunny’s character development.
We hope the extra free content will be enough to prove to readers that this adaptation is worth supporting with their wallets, because without legitimate support it could make it impossible to keep this going for as many seasons as we hope to adapt.
This is a passion project for us as much as it is a series you’re all passionate about. We apologize for the sudden shift, but hope you’ll stick with us and hope that many of you will still consider unlocking the season pass now versus waiting! Note: For those who have already paid to be members, worry not. We’ll get the monthly subscription paused for the next two installments to make sure subscription members aren’t overcharged. And for those who purchased the Season Pass, we’ll be extending that access toward a slightly longer season or beyond to make up for it!
